About the Role

MMR Research Associates is seeking a Vice President of Qualitative Research Services to plan, lead, and execute best-in-class qualitative services and consultancy to our diverse client network and beyond. This is an opportunity to develop a profitable qualitative research specialty practice at MMR. The Vice President of Qualitative Research Services must be a strong leader and clear communicator with high internal drive and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities + Requirements

Strategic Planning


  • Lay out a multi-year strategic scale-up plan for our new qualitative capability with revenue and profit targets as well as expected resource requirements.

  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external prospects as a foundation for developing and growing the practice.


Tactical Execution


  • Help generate incremental revenue and profit for MMR.

  • Provide business development, consultative, and proposal support to new qualitative opportunities.

  • Collaboratively identify priority clients and accounts for MMR’s qualitative focus.

  • Oversee and manage MMR’s roster of qualitative partners.

  • Utilizing existing internal resources initially, define and oversee a consistent process to execute qualitative research efficiently, effectively, and profitably, from project design through deliverables.

  • Establish standards and templates for qualitative deliverables.

  • As appropriate, provide qualitative research execution (e.g., moderating/depth interviewing) and deliverables support on MMR client projects (could include travel).

  • Develop MMR’s Qual-related marketing materials for use online, for direct outreach to clients and prospects, and for inclusion in proposals.

  • Establish an industry presence via initiation and commenting on articles and best practices.

  • Identify and attract net-new client accounts for qualitative-only projects, mainly via effective execution, repeat business and word of mouth.


Requirements and Qualifications



  • Required: Masters Degree in Marketing Research, Marketing, or Business


OR


  • 8 years' experience in a relevant field


AND


  • Preferred: 5 years' experience in Qualitative Research

  • Preferred: 5 years' experience in Marketing


Compensation Package + Approach


Compensation will reward impact across the organization based on a combination of leadership and collaboration (primary) PLUS impact on revenue and gross profit (secondary).


Components include:


  • Base Salary

  • Discretionary performance bonus / Annual Review based on -- qualitative practice revenue/profitability, personal performance via peer review evaluation and company performance… 15% - 25% of base salary

  • Performance based incentives on revenue/GP generated – unlimited, but expected to be at least 10% - 20% of base salary  in the early days
