Internships have long been part of the DNA of the MMR culture and Summer 2019 is no exception. Two interns – one a recent UGA MMR program graduate and one an undergrad – are immersed in a variety of learning opportunities.
“Whether you call it giving back or paying it forward, we love helping tomorrow’s marketing researchers see what it’s like in the trenches,” said Bill Denk, Co-Owner and Managing Partner. “It’s an important part of their education in a field that is constantly changing.”
A desire to learn more about the consumer behavior aspect of marketing in a real-world environment led Maria Blount, a senior at Clemson University majoring in marketing and psychology, to MMR.
“I was interested in finding a research-based internship that would provide a deeper and more technical understanding of how data can highlight and predict trends in the marketplace,” said Maria. “MMR is offering me many different experiences to apply what I’ve been learning in the classroom.”
Abby Dudman is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia’s Master’s in Marketing Research program. Her interest in the supplier side of the industry and meeting MMR team members while in grad school sparked her interest in joining the company.
“[When at UGA], I picked up on a company culture with a genuine desire to help and support clients,” said Abby. “I knew I wanted to be in that environment and have a chance to gain experience working on projects for well-known client organizations.”
“It’s always a privilege to bring students into our culture to help bridge that gap between theory and practice,” said Bruce Olson, Co-Owner and Managing Partner. “They ask compelling questions and their enthusiasm is contagious.”
